The Sweet Spot in the Chaos is one of the finest collections of poetry that I've read for many years. At 700 pages, it is truly breathtaking in its ability to make so many sublimely well-crafted poems seem natural, effortless, and totally relatable. This is the real thing—that rare poetic gem that comes along only once in decades.

, author of The Perfect Voice and LockdownIn his latest collection of poems, The Sweet Spot in the Chaos, Jonathan Potter shows the patience and perseverance of an archeologist. Using the schemes of poetry and dreams both anxious and arcadian, he uncovers more treasure than you’re likely to find in any other book this year.

, author of Bird’s Nest in Your Hair and Words of the DayThese poems, equally grounded in the I Ching and the Jungian chthonic, are meditations that “cast strange shadows” imbued with "the cusp of morning."

, author of Black Shirt Emblazoned and Mortal SugarHi folks,
This is Jonathan Potter, sole proprietor of Potter Poems: Poetry in Process here on Substack, and the author of The Sweet Spot in the Chaos—a just-released, 700-page tome hot off the proverbial presses at Korrektiv Press.
To celebrate the book’s release (and my release from the bondage of bookmaking), I’ve scheduled FOUR (yes, four) half-hour readings THIS SATURDAY, JUNE 28, 2025—broadcast via Zoom to anyone who’d like to gawk at the spectacle of an average-size poet wielding a big-ass book.
The readings will take place at 10am, 1pm, 4pm, and 7pm Pacific Time.
If you’d like the Zoom links, just ask in the comments or send me a DM—I’ll be happy to provide them.
Congrats!
Congratulations!
