Nice, it reminds me of Dolly Parton's song KENTUCKY GAMBLER. Merle Haggard recorded a nice version of that one.

Thanks, i wasn’t familiar with that song. Dolly Parton is a great songwriter but I do think Merle Haggard’s version gains something by the shift to the first person.

I am using this rhyme structure as an example of how to writer a poem when people want to be able turn it into a song. Thank you for the engaging story of this piece and the learning experience on structure, that it has given me.

I’m singing and playing the guitar on this original version; Sea is playing and singing on the new rendition. He’s the one who sounds like Johnny Cash.
