What a truly enjoyable post, Jonathan! I just love the picture of you guys sharing a meal and a feast of poems together. If ever I saw a case of a website bringing two great poetic spirits together, this is it. This is truly a shot from the vibrant creative community we are part of. And what of "Instrumental"? Well, "Instrumental" is yet another good poem on your journey to "Potter's Park", where it will be displayed in a little museum commemorating your journey there. Please give my best regards to our friend, Jed.

"Nine in the second place means:

There is food in the ting [pot].

My comrades are envious,

But they cannot harm me.

Good fortune."

I just saw this Jonathan. It is just so cool. Thank you. It reads cool (and warm) and it surfaces a terrific memory.

Speaking of memory, that magnifico is a pretty sticky one.

You always have nine in the second place and a place to crash under this roof.

Thanks, Jed, I figured you’d find it in due course. I’m glad you did. And yes that’s a great memory — a Substack miracle of sorts. Hospitality — yours and Lisa’s — poetry, ours and Mike’s, donuts in Mike’s backyard, the lovely Jaime, dueling I Ching readings, and of course The Magnifico.
