Bref Double
A cross between the raising of a curtain and the unwrapping of a present. I get a dichotomy of feelings between the transition from fall into winter and the warming from the growing of love. The presence of opposites gives the poem its energy.
Thank you Stan. I am blessed to have so attentive a reader as you.
You got hold of an ecstatic moment in this. So rare I think, and nearly blinding.
Thanks, Patris. I love that you got hold of my getting hold of exactly what you say.
Lovely poem!
Thank you!
Also thank you Messrs. @Poff @Wittenberger for the restacks.
So much goodness here, Jonathan!
I’m herewith adopting it as my favorite early December poem.
And, oh, those last two lines...purely gorgeous...
“Because the continent can’t hide
The love that’s rising in our eyes”
