Love it! I'd like to write a poem about calling the pharmacy but talking to a robot for about 10 minutes, going round and round and round until I finally talked to a human!
I’ve never been inside a Walmart. I remember I needed a filter for my A/C and my local DIY store didn’t stock the model so I checked the local Walmart online to see if they had it in stock. They didn’t. Good poem, though!
I'm sorry, I looked at the comments and I was like why is no one saying something about the song and the singing here? You're asking... you're on to something! I want to hear the song title poems sung too from now on. You've set the bar now! Only kidding, but it's amazing your singing. I have the Walmart song in my head now.
This is actually a song, not a poem per se. Even though, yes, I’m a poet and the focus of my Substack is poetry, not songwriting or music. Click on the audio link and see how you like it. That’s me singing and strumming the ukulele. The song itself is based on actual events in the life of my lovely wife, not-quite-accurately depicted in the AI illustration that adorns the post.
Thank you, felice.
I just loved this oh-so-relatable poem.
You are such a delightful writer Jonathan!
Thank you, DeeDee! I hope you listened to the audio, too!
I hate unbalanced carriages.
Yes, they’re the worst
Is there a Walmart in Baton Rouge?
There’s one in Montreal that was the inspiration for this

Yes! Do it!
Yes but I'll have to figure out what to say!
Be brave, be bold

Reality check—did you listen to the audio?

Forget about reading your poems, you should sing them all! This is great!
Thank you so much! That's what I was hoping someone would say :)

I changed the format of the post to make the audio widget more prominent; I'm hoping that'll help.
