I just loved this oh-so-relatable poem.

You are such a delightful writer Jonathan!

Love it! I'd like to write a poem about calling the pharmacy but talking to a robot for about 10 minutes, going round and round and round until I finally talked to a human!

Sometimes I imagine the person who invented the audix automated call routing system. I envision them in the afterlife suffering through an endless loop of pressing 1, 2, or 3 and getting nowhere.

But then, I tell myself to be nice. 🙃

I’ve never been inside a Walmart. I remember I needed a filter for my A/C and my local DIY store didn’t stock the model so I checked the local Walmart online to see if they had it in stock. They didn’t. Good poem, though!

Forget about reading your poems, you should sing them all! This is great!

Thank you so much! That's what I was hoping someone would say :)

I'm sorry, I looked at the comments and I was like why is no one saying something about the song and the singing here? You're asking... you're on to something! I want to hear the song title poems sung too from now on. You've set the bar now! Only kidding, but it's amazing your singing. I have the Walmart song in my head now.

I changed the format of the post to make the audio widget more prominent; I'm hoping that'll help.

This is actually a song, not a poem per se. Even though, yes, I’m a poet and the focus of my Substack is poetry, not songwriting or music. Click on the audio link and see how you like it. That’s me singing and strumming the ukulele. The song itself is based on actual events in the life of my lovely wife, not-quite-accurately depicted in the AI illustration that adorns the post.

I was humming the refrain joyously on my way to an appointment. I was determined to listen again when I got home. Love this.
