I see the stages of life transpiring through the stanzas until the third where you’re not only looking back at the first two but looking forward to the fourth which is more aspirational towards the end of life.
I'll have to investigate further and let you know. What I can tell you is that it's in my neighbors' front yard and nearly met its demise in a storm (whether wind or ice or both I don't recall) a couple of years ago. It was split right down the trunk. They hired an arborist who saved it by putting a huge clamp around it and it seems to have sprung back to live a full life.
Envy you. still can only sleep when so exhausted it grabs me like it’s hostage.
That’s exactly what happened. After insomnia the previous night.

Beautiful, thanks Stan. Yes
What is the huge, perfectly shaped tree/plant in the photos? It is magnificent as is your lovely poem.

That warms my heart to know they saved that beautiful piece of nature’s majesty.
Jonathan, there is a delightful poem in the saving of that piece of beauty.
Write it and share with your neighbors. I guarantee squeals, whether inside or busting out loud, will ensue.
I will try! (Although I still have two other assignments to complete based on recent comments!)
So much good stuff!
Thank you, sir!
